Exciting Opportunity in Home Health Care

Join the Home Health program at the Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Missouri, where we deliver quality care under orders from private physicians. We accept payment through Medicaid, Medicare, and Private Pay/Insurance. As a non-profit organization, we are dedicated to serving our community.
Type Of Work InvolvedIn this role, you will assess symptoms of diseases and responses to treatment, educate patients and caregivers on self-care, address inquiries related to medication, diet, disease management, and activity. You will also administer IV and injectable medications, carry out prescribed treatments, provide wound care, ostomy management, assist in restoring independence, and communicate changes in the patient's health to physicians.
Type Of EmploymentOur dedicated VNA nurses are compensated per visit, receive mileage reimbursem*nt or a company car, and are expected to be available for monthly and weekly on-call duties. The standard work hours are from 8 AM to 4:30 PM daily, with potential travel of 45 miles or more.
TrainingNew employees will undergo a comprehensive 30-day training period to familiarize themselves with our policies and procedures. Additionally, training will be provided on the use of handheld devices for patient visits.
Duties
Assess symptoms and treatment responses
Educate patients and caregivers on self-care
Administer IV and injectable medications
Perform prescribed treatments
Provide wound and ostomy care
Support in restoring independence
Communicate health changes to physicians
Qualifications
Minimum 18 years of age
Proficient in reading, writing, simple mathematics, and following instructions
At least one year of home health or nursing experience
Possession of a Missouri nursing license
Reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance
Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check
Registration with Family Care Reg.
Not listed on the Employee Disqualification List (EDL)
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
